Baked Apple Pie Pastry Bites
Delightful baked apple pie bites feature tart apple wedges wrapped in flaky pastry and coated in a sweet cinnamon-sugar topping. Serve warm with an optional drizzle of caramel sauce for an extra indulgent treat.
Instructions
-
1
Preheat oven to 425°F. In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon; reserve 1 tablespoon of the mixture.
-
2
On a lightly floured surface, unroll the pie crusts and roll/trim each into an 8-inch square. Brush the squares with 2 tablespoons of the melted butter, then sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture, reserving the 1 tablespoon.
-
3
Cut each square into eight 1-inch strips. Wrap one strip of pastry around each apple wedge, placing the sugared side of the pastry against the apple.
-
4
Place the wrapped apple bites on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with the remaining 1 tablespoon of melted butter and sprinkle with the reserved cinnamon-sugar.
-
5
Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown. Serve the warm apple pie bites with a drizzle of caramel sauce, if desired.
