Spiced Pecan Icebox Cookies

Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, and cinnamon; set aside.

In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, vanilla, and lemon extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix well. Fold in the chopped pecans.

Divide the dough into 4 parts and shape each into an 11x1-1/2-inch roll. Wrap in foil and chill overnight.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Slice the chilled dough into 3/8-inch thick cookies and arrange on greased baking sheets.
