Preheat oven to 325°F. Spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toasted bread and cut into small pieces. Arrange the bread, mayonnaise side up, in a greased 8-inch square baking dish. Top with the cheese slices and crumbled bacon.

In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the flour, salt, and pepper until smooth. Gradually add the milk and bring to a boil. Cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes. Pour the sauce over the bacon.

In a large skillet, fry the eggs over medium heat until they reach the desired doneness. Place the fried eggs over the bacon. Top with the sliced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, and sliced green onions. Bake, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Serve the casserole with the shredded lettuce.
