Instructions
-
1
Dissolve the yeast in warm water. Add the warm milk, sugar, oil, salt, and 1-1/4 cups of flour. Beat on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
-
2
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
-
3
Punch down the dough. Roll it out on a lightly floured surface into an 18x12-inch rectangle. Spread the softened butter over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border. Combine the sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the butter.
-
4
Roll up the dough jelly-roll style, starting from the long side. Pinch the seam to seal. Cut the roll into 12 equal slices.
-
5
In a greased 13x9-inch baking pan, combine the brown sugar and heavy cream. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top. Arrange the sliced rolls cut-side down over the pecan mixture. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
-
6
Bake the sticky buns at 350°F for 30-35 minutes, or until they are well browned. Allow to cool for 1 minute before inverting onto a serving platter.
