Buttery Cherry Chip Scones

Preheat oven to 400°F. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In a separate bowl, mix the vanilla yogurt and 1/4 cup of milk. Stir the yogurt mixture into the dry ingredients just until moistened. Knead in the dried cherries and white baking chips.

On a greased baking sheet, pat the dough into a 9-inch circle. Cut the circle into 8 wedges and separate the wedges. Brush the tops with the remaining 1/4 cup of milk. Sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
