In a large saucepan, cook the ground beef and onions over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute longer. Drain the excess fat.
-
2
Stir in the spaghetti sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, water, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, basil, and 1 teaspoon of oregano. Cover and simmer for 3 hours, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld.
-

Cook the ziti pasta according to the package directions, then drain it.
-
4
In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of the mozzarella, 1/4 cup of the Parmesan, the egg substitute, salt, and pepper.

Grease two 13x9-inch baking dishes and spread 1 cup of the meat sauce in the bottom of each. Layer a fourth of the cooked pasta, 1 cup of the meat sauce, and a fourth of the cheese mixture in each dish. Repeat the layers.
-
6
Top the casseroles with the remaining meat sauce. Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese and 1/2 teaspoon of oregano over the top. Cover and bake at 350°F for 1 hour or until heated through.
