Cheesy Broiled Beef and Tomato Burgers
Juicy broiled beef burgers topped with a savory tomato-oregano mixture and melted cheese slices, served on toasted hamburger buns for a quick and satisfying lunch or dinner.
Instructions
-
1
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
-
2
Sprinkle the cornstarch over the beef mixture and stir until well blended. Add the diced tomatoes, oregano, salt, and onion salt. Cook, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until the mixture has thickened slightly.
-
3
Add 6 cheese slices to the beef mixture and cook, stirring, until the cheese has melted and is fully incorporated.
-
4
Place the split hamburger buns on an ungreased baking sheet. Spoon about 1/4 cup of the beef mixture onto each bun half. Cut the remaining 4 cheese slices in half diagonally and place them over the meat mixture.
-
5
Broil the burgers 6-8 inches from the heat for 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
