Creamy Cajun Seafood Casserole

Preheat oven to 350°F. In a saucepan, cook and stir cream cheese and 2 tablespoons butter over low heat until melted and smooth.

In a large cast-iron or other ovenproof skillet, sauté the onion, celery, and green pepper in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter until tender. Stir in the shrimp, crabmeat, cream of mushroom soup, cooked rice, sliced mushrooms, garlic salt, hot pepper sauce, and cayenne pepper. Finally, fold in the melted cream cheese mixture.

Combine the shredded cheddar cheese and crushed butter-flavored crackers, then sprinkle the mixture over the top of the casserole. Bake, uncovered, for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
