Preheat oven to 350°F. In a microwave, melt the chocolate and butter, stirring until smooth.

In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar on high speed for 10 minutes. Stir in the vanilla and the melted chocolate mixture. Gradually stir in the flour. Fold in the chopped maraschino cherries. Spread the batter into a greased 13x9-inch baking pan.

For the topping, in a small bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Beat in the mashed banana and strawberry preserves. Add the egg and beat on low speed just until blended. Spread the topping over the brownie batter and sprinkle with the chopped peanuts.
