Grilled Teriyaki Pineapple Burgers
Juicy grilled beef patties are topped with sweet pineapple slices, savory teriyaki sauce, melted Swiss cheese, and crispy bacon for a delightful Hawaiian-inspired burger experience.
Instructions
-
1
Drain pineapple juice into a small bowl; add teriyaki sauce. Place 3 tablespoons in a shallow dish. Add pineapple slices and turn to coat, then set aside.
-
2
Shape the ground beef into 4 patties and place them in an 8-inch square baking dish. Pour the remaining teriyaki sauce mixture over the patties and marinate for 5-10 minutes, turning once.
-
3
Remove the burger patties from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the patties over medium heat or broil them 4 inches from the heat for 6-9 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F. Meanwhile, sauté the onion in butter in a small skillet until tender, about 5 minutes, and set aside.
-
4
Remove the pineapple slices from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place the pineapple slices on the grill or under the broiler to heat through. Layer the bottom buns with lettuce and the sautéed onion. Top with the grilled burger patties, Swiss cheese, pineapple slices, and bacon. Replace the top buns.
