Preheat oven to 450°F. In a bowl, combine the biscuit mix, dried basil, and water until just moistened. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead 5 times.

Roll the dough out into a 12-inch by 9-inch rectangle. Spread the cooked and drained ground beef over the dough, then drizzle with the 1/4 cup of beef gravy. Roll up the dough jelly-roll style, starting from a long side. Cut the roll into 1/2-inch slices and place them in a lightly greased 13-inch by 9-inch baking dish.
