Smoky Grilled Pork Spareribs with Tangy BBQ Sauce
Tender, fall-off-the-bone pork spareribs are simmered until meltingly soft, then grilled to caramelized perfection and basted in a rich, tangy homemade barbecue sauce for a delightfully smoky, flavor-packed dish.

1
In a large pot or Dutch oven, place the pork spareribs and quartered onion. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Add enough water to cover the ribs, then bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until the meat is very tender.

Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine all the sauce ingredients. Simmer the sauce, uncovered, for 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until it has thickened slightly.

Preheat the broiler and line a broiler pan with foil. Arrange the cooked ribs on the prepared pan. Brush the ribs generously with the homemade barbecue sauce. Broil the ribs 5 inches from the heat source for 5 minutes per side, brushing frequently with more sauce, until the ribs are caramelized and heated through.
